About Kwanghi Chan

Irish TV Chef Kwanghi Chan was born in Hong Kong and moved to Buncrana, Co Donegal at the age of eight. In 2011, he became Head Chef at the Michelin starred Cliff House Hotel in Ardmore, Co Waterford and in 2015, he took on the role of director of Soder+Ko in Dublin. In 2016 he then launched his own sauces and condiments Range, ChanChan, available across in major supermarkets and artisan stores, fast forward to 2023 Kwanghi re-branded it to East by Kwanghi Chan. In 2018, Bowls by Kwanghi, a simple rice & dumpling eatery was opened which is located in Malborough Street in Dublin 1. And 2021 will see a Food Trailer Concept develop and outdoor BBQ. You can also try his own range of Home Meal Kits that you can cook along at home that you can follow with his Video Recipes.  

Televison & Media -

Alongside with the Hosts of the show, he is the Resident Chef creating fast fusion cooking on the slot on Virgin Media One’s, The Six Clock Show.

 

Ambassador -

He travels to Hong Kong often working with the Irish Food Board & Irish Consulate in Hong Kong & Macau promoting Irish food & Irish grass fed beef with pop up restaurants cooking with top Irish ingredients listed in Hong Kong.

Big Green Egg’s BBQ is a favourite of his cooking outdoors & in festivals, using it in his Bowls Restaurant to slowly get that smoky flavour in his cooking.

Kwanghi Chan had written the cook book called 'WOK', it is know to be the first ever Irish Chinese cook book to be the first cook book to be published. 'WOK' had won the 28th Gourmand World Cook Book Awards 2023 Blasta Books in the Chinese cook book category.
